Collection of Personal Information The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio does not collect personal information online. We do not accept contributions or membership dues or engage in any other financial transactions electronically. Our Web site is not set up to track, collect, or distribute personal information. We do not collect personal information from donors unless they request to be placed on our mailing list. We collect only the information necessary to provide advocacy to those requesting assistance related to services and or programs available to the blind. These may include but are not limited to programs administered by the Social Security Administration, the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commision, public housing authorities, and school districts. Membership information is collected by local chapters. The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio maintains a data base for the distribution of a newsletter and other materials for desiminating information about blindness. How Your Information May Be Shared We never sell or rent your personal information. The NFB of Ohio may, however, release personal information under the following circumstances: *Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation; * When it is advisable to consult about a problem or situation informally with someone in our netword of experts, but only with the individual’s permission; or *To appropriate authorities when your communication to us suggests the possibility of harm to yourself or others.
